Amcom Telecom (ASX:AMM) has won a $20 million contract to provide high speed fibre-based telecom services to the Northern Territory Government.

The contract, which was awarded to Amcom subsidiary Amcom Pty Ltd, will see Amcom extend its existing fibre networks in Darwin and Alice Springs to provide data carriage services to government agencies and schools.

The arrangement, which has a five-year term, will also see Amcom establish an office in Darwin to fulfill the agreement and pursue further commercial opportunities.

“This is a beachhead contract of significant value and provides us with expanded infrastructure and scale to capture further organic opportunities in Darwin and Alice Springs,” Amcom CEO Clive Stein said.
