IT products and services provider Powerlan (ASX:PWR) has unveiled a new version of its OfficeConverter document conversion software.

OfficeConverter 2010 was developed by Powerlan subsidiary ConverterTechnology. It aims to accelerate the process of migrating existing files to work with the latest Microsoft Office platform.

The tool automatically identifies documents and files which should be converted, identifies which ones are at risk of corruption and incompatibility and attempt to automatically fix problems if they are encountered.

The 2010 edition should be available later this month.
